  • Eurovision: The big night

The big finale in the Eurovision Song Contest is tonight. Full on craziness.

Spain is one of the “Big Five” so they didn’t have to go through the semi-finals to get to tonight. Usually that is a disadvantage, because the audience don’t have the same attachment to the song. I’m kind of liking this year’s entry from them.  I hope it is ok live. (The majority of the songs for this competition have better videos than live performances.)

  • Eurovision 2 semi-finals

It is the second semi-finale of the Eurovision Song Contest tonight. The crazy entry below… I don’t have words. But it is a very Eurovision song.

Anyone around calling their significant other “Sweet Cheesecake?”

  • Eurovision: 1 semi-finals

It is Eurovision Week! The first semi finale is to day. The Latvian song below is one of the entries this year. I’m loving the surrealism of the song. Perfect Eurovision song. (So strange that you can’t help being charmed.)

  • The Eurovision menu

Having an Eurovision party is an excellent time to try out the recipes I’ve collected from other blogs. Norway isn’t in the finals, which didn’t come as a huge shock, but the food should be good anyway.

Currently in the oven is the Cinnamon Sugar Pull Apart bread. Earlier today, I made Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins, and Chocolate Dump Cake. I can’t wait to eat the Chocolate cake – it is looking really good out of the oven. (Aside – converting from imperial to metric on the go is not advised. The whole operation took a bit longer than it would have if I’d just printed the recipes and written the conversion on the paper prior to baking. Why can’t we all have the same measurement system?)

In addition to a bowl of crisps and some sweets, it should be enough to distract from the worst of the songs.
