A rumour that has been hopping up on royal forums and in the media alike is whether or not Crown Princess Mette-Marit is pregnant.
The Crown Princess has been facing these rumours almost since she gave birth to Sverre Magnus, around 2 ½ years ago, as her body apparently hasn’t snapped back to its pre-pregnancy shape, and she appears to actually have a tummy instead of a flat board.
The rumours increased, however, after the official visit to Mexico, when she wore a lot of clothes that seemed to seek to hide her stomach area (picture of one of the days in Mexico above,) did not wear her rings, toasted with her white wine but didn’t drink it, and additionally there was an extra day in Mexico, allegedly because Mette-Marit had a stomach ache after the dinner with the Mexican president. It all adds up, according to some.
If the pregnancy is troublesome, the Norwegian court have announce earlier before, but otherwise, the announcement comes around the 3rd month.
Is there another baby on the way in the Norwegian royal family? The evidence is flimsy, so time will tell. (It may well be, such as in the case of Princess Marie, where the pregnancy speculations in June and July came well before the princess was actually pregnant.)
