Programme for Haakon and Mette-Marit’s visit to Mexico

Here is the programme for Haakon and Mette-Marit’s official visit to Mexico.

They arrived yesterday, and there is allegedly an increase in security around them – with between 30 and 50 security guards. For picture from the arrival, see here.

Today, Monday March 16.
The visit starts in Mexico City, by the National Monument, followed by a welcoming ceremony and an official lunch with the President. There will also be a visit to the Frida Kahlo museum.

In the afternoon, there will be an opening of a photo exhibit in Chapultepec Park.

Tuesday, March 17
The Crown Prince participates in a breakfast meeting in Club de Industriales with Norwegian and Mexican businesses, before he opens a business seminar the same place.

The Crown Princess visits the Clinica Condesa, a HIV/AIDS centre.

Further, the Crown Prince and Crown Princess visits the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Crown Prince Haakon gives a lecture on his role as an UNDP ambassador. The Crown Princess opens the architecture exhibit ”Kristin Jarmund Architects – Selected Works”. The visit to the University ends with the Crown Prince opening a film seminar.

In the evening, they will participate in a buffet reception arranged by the Norwegian embassy and Innovation Norway.

Wednesday, March 18.
Before departure to Veracruz, the Crown Prince opens a seminar on native populations at the Anthropology museum.

The Crown Prince and Crown Princess will be driving to Veracruz, to experience more of the country. For lunch, they will be stopping at a Hacienda to experience typical local cuisine.

In the evening, the Governor of Veracruz is hosting a dinner.

Thursday, March 19.
The Crown Prince visits BW Offshore’s production, storage and loading ships. (FPSO).

The Crown Princess opens a seminar on business.

Departure for Norway in the evening.
