The next step in my Oslo exploration was a trip to the Munch museum. I walked down to it in the snow. Considering that I came in from the chill, the museum felt overly warm. Probably better to visit when the temperatures are better outside. The collection at the Munch museum is actually more extensive… Continue reading Munch museum

Cheesy bits
The first part of our New Year’s Eve menu were these cheesy bits from The French revolution. They’re really dead easy – puff pastry, shredded cheese (we went for Jarlsberg), and a bit of spice. Add the spice and the shredded cheese on top of the puff pastry. Bake them up according to the instructions… Continue reading Cheesy bits

Norwegian royal family and their national costumes (#20)

We ended up with more mushrooms than in the recipe, due to a small miscommunication between the sister who bought the mushrooms and the sister who chopped them. We also added a bit of beef stock to the recipe… Continue reading Beef bourguignon with roasted potatoes
Scandinavian royals to celebrate Norwegian constitution
The Norwegian constitution will celebrate its bicentenary on May 17. (Trust me, I will probably mention this a lot during the coming year…). The committee, who is arranging the celebration, sent an invitation to the Swedish and the Danish court (in addition to the Norwegian, I would presume.) to invite them to the celebrations at… Continue reading Scandinavian royals to celebrate Norwegian constitution
Happy 3rd birthday to Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine
The twins are growing up. Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine turned three years to day. The Danish court released these pictures for the occasion. This lovely photo, with both of them, is probably my favorite. It feels a lot less airbrushed and more spontaneous than what we might normally see from the Danish court.
