Books I read in August

Oh, these books. I think I’ve read less books in August than I anticipated. Mostly because I’ve been reading fan fiction instead.

Trying to break a habit

So, the Olympics are over. And since I’ve been checking the online newspapers pretty obsessively both because of that, and, it’s been a slow summer, I figured it was time to break my habit. One of my favorites both to make and eat is this soup from BBCGoodFood.  Carrot and cheddar sounds like an odd combination, but it works perfectly. I made it exactly according to the recipe,… Continue reading Carrot and cheddar soup

Review: French children don’t throw food

Here’s the thing: I don’t have children. I have no immediate plans to have children (though my gynecologist was quick to point out that children can be unplanned) but this book really resonated with me. The book is French Children Don’t Throw Food, and to be perfectly honest – I got it for the title alone.… Continue reading Review: French children don’t throw food
