Conversation with my dad

My Dad was showing me a Facebook post from one of his coworkers. The coworker posted a story about a friend (it was rather unclear, if it was just a cover for her, though) who’d bought what they assumed was a $600 Michael Kors bag in NYC. On sale.

When returning home, their credit card slip had shown $6000 being charged – an extra zero.

My father was baffled by someone spending that much on purses, and claimed it had to be someone in the oil industry.

Me: “I can’t imagine spending that much on a purse. If I had that kind of money, it would probably be spent on computers.”

Dad, nodding proudly: “A side effect of your upbringing.”
